To eat or not to eat?
Well. Everything seemed so simple, with big studies showing that eating a Mediterranean diet—think Greek island lunch with olive oil, vegetables, fruit, nuts, and cereals but light on dairy and red or processed meats—reduced cardiovascular disease (CVD). Until this week, that is, when Spanish researchers retracted their landmark study (PREDIMED)1 because of “irregularities in randomisation procedures.”
