Promises to treat more patients at home fail to materialise as community services report cuts

Funding for NHS community services is continuing to fall despite government pledges to prioritise services that help people to stay in their homes, an organisation that represents NHS trusts have warned.

The report from NHS Providers found that the expansion of community services envisaged by successive governments had not materialised because of underfunding and failure to prioritise developments at both national and local level.1
