BMA reopens negotiations over imposed junior doctor contract

Junior doctors’ representatives have agreed to reopen negotiations on the contract that was imposed on them in acrimonious circumstances in 2016.
Jeeves Wijesuriya, chair of the BMA’s Junior Doctors Committee, said that the association had reached an agreement with NHS Employers to participate in a review and a “formal, collaborative bargaining process” in 2018, with a view to making changes to the contract.
