NHS risks missing out on benefits of genomics, MPs warn

The advancement of genomic medicine in the NHS is being held back by delays in infrastructure development and reduced training budgets, a committee of MPs has warned.
The report by the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee also warned that public support for deploying the UK’s world leading genomics capabilities in the NHS could waver unless more were done to alleviate ethical concerns about the process and to promote the potential benefits.1
