Price increase in tobacco tax is very important in Sri Lanka. We did this in 2016, increasing the tax approximately 75%
We found that at the end of 2017 there was more than 25% cessation among middle income and low income groups
The main problem is the tobacco industry playing a big role with political leaders and media against this
