Re: Antibiotics after incision and drainage for uncomplicated skin abscesses: a clinical practice guideline
This new practice guideline seems to encourage use of antibiotics for minor benefits, like long term recurrence, local tenderness, etc.
Surgeons and clinicians must never forget that antibiotic use is linked to increased risk of precancerous colon polyps.
Let alone creation of deadly multi-resistant strains.
