Conventional enthusiasm. It's worth recalling the most successful healthcare interventions are non-precision public health interventions - clean water, vaccinations, tobacco control, etc. The area where "precision" medicine is most advanced is oncology, but what is the most effective intervention to reduce cancer mortality? It's raising cigarette taxes. Pursuing "precision" medicine is exciting and worthwhile but only justifiable if existing, clearly effective interventions are being utilized vigorously.
