Quebec doctors reject pay rise in favour of investment in health system

Rapid Response:

What tortures Quebec doctors is inequality rather than payment

Hundreds of doctors in Quebec are turning down pay rises. Why? These doctors said that they were too embarrassed to accept the higher payments while nurses around them were poorly paid.

In my opinion, the doctors in Quebec realize that money isn't everything. What matters? Harmony in teamwork is very important. Enough nurses with good skills and their happiness make the days of the doctors go much more smoothly with less stress. It may lead to better patient outcomes as well.

Confucius: "inequality, rather than want, is the cause of trouble”. It was with this in mind that I read the BMJ news entitled with "Quebec doctors reject pay rise in favour of investment in health system"[1].
