Many global health organisations fail to act on gender equality

Many of the world’s leading global health organisations do not follow gender balanced policies or have gender equality practices in place, a report1 from an independent research initiative has claimed.
Fewer than a third of the group define gender in a manner that is consistent with global norms—a prerequisite for effective and equitable programming, Global Health 50/50, an independent initiative that seeks to promote action and accountability for gender, said.
