Margaret Machon Platts

Margaret Machon Platts won a scholarship to Sheffield Girls High School at the age of 11. She entered Sheffield medical school in 1942-3 and may have been the only woman in her class. Her initial interest after qualifying was in respiratory physiology, on which she obtained her MD and was appointed to the teaching staff in Sheffield.
