My wife & I both submitted saliva samples to explore our genetic backgrounds. I was thrilled to learn my own hereditary fingerprint includes 1.5% Neanderthal DNA! I did not parse it further to earwax subtypes, or to my own personal risk of eventual extinction, which, a priori, I estimate at 100%.
