Charles Leonard Mansfield did house jobs at the Belgrave and Bolingbroke hospitals. After two years’ national service with the Royal Army Medical Corps in Hong Kong, he trained as a general practitioner in south London before taking up a partnership at Knights Hill Surgery in Norwood in 1959.
