European Commission issues advice on use of antimicrobials

Guidelines on the use of antimicrobials in human health have been issued for the first time by the European Commission. They provide specific advice for the medical profession, national authorities, researchers, the pharmaceutical industry, and the general public.
The guidelines are part of a package of measures in a new action plan to tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR) presented by the commission in Brussels on 29 June.
