Ray Dolan: Blues on the brain

Ray Dolan is the Mary Kinross professor of neuropsychiatry at University College London, where he studies the brain’s decision making, including its neurochemical control. This year he shared the €1m Brain Prize, awarded annually by the Lundbeck Foundation for outstanding contributions to neuroscience by European scientists. Born in 1954 in Ireland, he qualified in medicine and moved to England for his psychiatric training. He was elected a fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) in 2010.
