The UK spent 9.9% of its gross domestic product (GDP) on healthcare expenditure in 2015, official figures have shown.
The UK ranked 13th out of 35 Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development states in terms of health spending, but sixth lowest out of the G7 nations, with only Italy (9.1%) investing less.
