Surgeons say they expressed safety concerns to hospital bosses before child’s death
BMJ 2017; 357 doi: https://doi.org/10.1136/bmj.j2003 (Published 24 April 2017) Cite this as: BMJ 2017;357:j2003Clarification - This article (BMJ 2017;357:j1779, doi:10.1136/bmj.j1779) gives the impression that a letter to managers at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital warning about the safety of the service was written by Ross Craigie, clinical lead for paediatric surgery, as an individual. This is misleading. The letter was in fact written on behalf of a group of surgeons (the Department of Paediatric Surgery). We apologise for this inaccuracy.
