Vascular risk factors show link to development of Alzheimer’s

Middle aged people with a high number of vascular risk factors such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, and smoking are more likely to have elevated levels of brain amyloid in later life, a study published in JAMA has found. The researchers said their findings suggest that vascular disease has a role in the development of Alzheimer’s disease.1
