Health campaigners welcome government plan to phase out coal power

The UK Health Alliance on Climate Change has welcomed the government’s plan to phase out coal power by 2025.
A consultation document published on 9 November1 outlined how the government plans to fulfil its 2015 pledge2 to replace coal power with cleaner technology, such as gas, in a bid to reduce significantly emissions from the UK’s energy use.
