WHO urges restrictions on e-cigarettes

The World Health Organization has urged countries to restrict the sale, promotion, and use of electronic cigarettes.
WHO made the call in a paper to be discussed at this week’s meeting of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control in India.1 The paper said that the aerosol produced by e-cigarettes contained glycols, aldehydes, volatile organic compounds, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, tobacco specific nitrosamines, metals, silicate particles, and other elements.
