MEPs call for legal limits on trans fats

The EU is coming under increasing pressure to pass legislation limiting the use of trans fats (TFAs) in food.

The European Parliament has called on the European Commission to present draft legislation within two years. This should be accompanied by an assessment of the costs that a limit might have on the food industry, and the possibility that these might be passed on to consumers.
