Home care services should give patients more responsibility for managing their own medicines, aided by family or carers if required, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence has said in draft guidance.1
The homecare services that received the highest rating from the Care Quality Commission in a new report were rated as outstanding mainly because staff took the time to have meaningful discussions with patients.2
