In reply to Dean and Coakley,1 2 I am familiar with the Cochrane review and also a clinical review article from The BMJ on the management of lumbar spinal stenosis.3 Both articles note that studies into the management of this condition are difficult because of its heterogeneity, the varying severity of symptoms, the failure of studies to define their conservative management, and …
