Dear Sir

I wish to draw to your attention that there is an error in the above published article. The narrowest point in the small bowel (the point at which bolus obstructions virtually always occur) is NOT the ileocaecal junction as quoted in the article but a point 2 feet from the ileocaecal junction in the terminal ileum. This is the site of the embryonic vitellointestinal duct and is the same site where one can encounter a Meckel’s diverticulum.
