House Republicans release plan to replace Affordable Care Act

Republicans in the US House of Representative have released a plan1 that they say would replace the Affordable Care Act. The plan includes reforms that would give consumers more choices at lower costs and assure that “every American had access to quality, affordable health care.”

Supporters of the 2010 health reform law derided the proposal, saying that after promising for nearly six and half years to repeal and replace the law, the Republicans have submitted a proposal filled with old, “recycled ideas,” and have provided no details on cost, how it would be paid for, or how many people it would cover.
