MSF rejects EU funding in protest at refugee deal

The aid charity Médecins Sans Frontières has announced that it will reject all funding from European Union member states and institutions in protest at the EU’s deal with Turkey to stem the flow of refugees across Europe’s borders.
The decision takes effect immediately and will apply to MSF’s projects worldwide, the charity said in a statement. It was prompted by a new European Commission proposal to “replicate the EU-Turkey logic across more than 16 countries in Africa and the Middle East,” adjusting trade and aid deals according to countries’ willingness to stem outward migration or to accept forced returns of refugees. …
