In response to Thilagnathan’s comments,1 our paper identified several single risk factors that confer enough risk to justify aspirin prophylaxis in pregnancy (http://bit.ly/27Gw8LQ).2 For other risk factors, we recommend that two or more need to be present, again, based on our recent study. Maternal age over 40 years requires the presence of a second risk factor because its number needed to prevent was greater than 250.
