A GP from Northern Ireland has pleaded guilty at Belfast Crown Court to falsifying a clinical trial of a sleeping pill for the drug company Sanofi Aventis. Hugh McGoldrick was due to go to trial on eight charges but pleaded guilty on two of the charges after the jury was sworn in.
He admitted two counts of conducting a clinical trial of the efficacy and safety of M100907 in sleep maintenance insomnia, in breach of the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations 2004, on dates from November 2007 to June 2008. The …
