Computer algorithm could help GPs predict dementia risk

Researchers at University College London have developed a simple computer algorithm using routinely collected health data that could help GPs predict the risk of patients developing dementia.
The dementia risk score needs to be further evaluated but may be particularly useful for ruling out patients at very low risk of conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, the researchers wrote in the open access journal BMC Medicine.1
