BMA agrees to re-enter talks over new consultant contract

The BMA has agreed to re-enter negotiations with NHS Employers on the consultant contract in England after the association’s Consultants Committee voted on the issue.
The announcement came at the end of the six week deadline imposed by the health secretary, Jeremy Hunt, for the BMA to either return to negotiations or face having a new contract imposed.1
