Rapid Response:

Nicotine is a deadly monster that has engulfed people and their families with its sheer psychological and physical dependency. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that each year tobacco causes about 6 million deaths (about 10% of all deaths) with 0.6 million of these occurring in non-smokers due to second hand smoke. The warning messages printed on cigarettes, endless sufferings of cancer patients broadcast on television have no effect so far on adolescents who crave for it in its absence.

Images of success, romance, adventure achieved by smokers as endorsed by film stars have had a huge impact among the younger generation that seems to be crippled by this deadly monster. The misconception about e cigarettes, devoid of all toxic chemicals and being safer than conventional smoking, can widen the use among non smoking adults and pregnant woman just out of curiosity and to get a kick out of it. Lastly tobacco is the single greatest cause of preventable death globally, thus a strict surveillance to curb this menace from all its alternate form and adjuncts should be implemented.
