Pharmacists could work in GP premises under proposed new model of care

General practitioners could see community pharmacists working as part of their team and on the same premises, under new proposals that aim to make better use of the clinical skills offered by dispensing professionals.

Ash Soni, president of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, described pharmacists’ current contracts as a “straitjacket” that did not allow community pharmacists the freedom to design services around the needs of local populations.
