Cancer survival in England still lags behind similar countries, study shows

Survival among patients in England with a range of cancers has improved steadily over the past few years but remains lower than in other countries with similar healthcare systems, a new study shows.

The study, published in the British Journal of Cancer,1 used national, population based cancer registrations to estimate the net survival among 1.9 million patients with breast, colon, rectum, lung, stomach, or ovarian cancer in England who were diagnosed from 1995 to 2012.
