Adjuvant herbal therapy for Helicobacter pylori
I would like to underline and remind colleagues about the extremely powerful broad spectrum fungicidal and bactericidal activity, of carvacrol rich essential oil of oregano that has proved to be active, even against antibiotic and antimycotic resistant strains, without any side effects. [1][2]
Concomitant administration of carvacrol rich essential oil of oregano with current pharmacologic therapies against Helicobacter pylori must be pursued, in order to achieve synergistic effects. [3][4][8]
Oil of oregano has also antinociceptive[7] and potent anti-inflammatory activity[5][6].
Carvacrol is highly bactericidal against H. pylori P1 and against other Helicobacter strains tested.
No bacterial resistance has ever been observed.
