First successful organ donation from newborn is carried out in UK

Doctors at Hammersmith Hospital in London have reported the United Kingdom’s first successful organ donation from a newborn baby who had died shortly after birth.
One recipient with renal failure received kidneys, and another was given a transfusion of hepatocytes taken from the baby girl, the doctors wrote in the Archives of Disease in Childhood Fetal and Neonatal Edition.1
