Re: Don’t mention the P word

Having read this article it reminds me of another piece I read lately in the Journal of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Diseases (2015 Apr;24(4):874-80). Essentially this article argues that despite the quality of referrals to the Neurovascular clinics, it is unlikely to have any impact on guideline adherence for management of TIA and Stroke and suggests that an alternative mode of referral needs to be found. However, in the absence of this at present, the pathway is a useful and time efficient mode by which both the primary and emergency care physicians can make referrals to clinic. Without the pathway, it may well make the process of referral that little more arduous and time consuming.
