UK government postpones publishing report on sexual health services

Publication of a report on the effect of NHS reforms on sexual health provision in England has been postponed indefinitely despite being originally scheduled for publication in November last year.

The Department of Health review was supposed to have reported on the implementation of A Framework for Sexual Health Improvement in England,1 which was published in March 2013 just ahead of the introduction of the Health and Social Care Act in April. The legislation made local government accountable for the bulk of services as part of its new public health remit, with the remainder split between primary care and NHS England.
