US cardiologist offered money and guns to kill rival doctor, prosecutors allege

A Long Island cardiologist offered oxycodone and blank prescription pads alongside guns and cash as payment for the killing of a rival cardiologist, prosecutors have alleged. Anthony Moschetto, 54, is also charged with paying for the arson of his rival’s office and may yet face additional weapons charges.
“Dr Anthony Moschetto is a hidden monster living in the North Shore area who has no respect for law and life,” said Nassau County’s acting police commissioner, Thomas Krumpter. “He had enough weapons to provide a small army means to wreak harm.”
The Drug Enforcement Agency said that Moschetto first came to the notice of its undercover agents who were buying black market oxycodone in an effort to trace its source. An oxycodone dealer they were targeting …
