Milk intake and risk of mortality and fractures in women and men: cohort studies

Rapid Response:

It was interesting to read a study, which was carried out for more than 20 years, on the relation between one of the common dietary components and mortality and fracture. I was not expecting to see an increase in mortality with excess milk consumption. It will be good to do a prospective study to look into the affect of various dietary products on mortality, instead of a retrospective analysis. As diary products are consumed widely across society, it might not be a bad idea to consider having different arms in the study for different diary products. If the cheese arm in the study is proven to reduce mortality in the long run, then it will make me feel better.
