Swiss voters reject plan to switch from private to public health system

Voters in Switzerland have rejected a proposed plan to dismantle the nation’s private health insurance system and replace it with a new state operated system.
In a nationwide referendum held on 28 September, 62% of voters opposed the establishment of a single state run entity providing basic health insurance, preferring instead to keep the private system, which currently has 61 private companies.
