Community mental health services must improve to meet all patients’ needs, survey shows

Two thirds of people who responded to a survey about community mental health services in England rated their overall experience as seven or more out of 10. But improvements are still needed in many aspects of care, the results showed, including communication and information, review of care, involvement in decisions, and support and understanding in other areas of life.

Mental health service users from 57 NHS trusts in England were approached for the 2014 survey,1 and 13 500 responded, giving a response rate of 29%.
