Likelihood of bladder cancer associated with non-visible haematuria is quantified for first time

Microscopic (non-visible) haematuria is still associated with around half the risk of bladder cancer seen with visible haematuria, researchers have calculated. They emphasised that it was important for GPs to consider referring such patients for assessment for bladder cancer, particularly those aged over 60.
