Mass treatment with statins

Re: Mass treatment with statins

Mass treat with statins - this really is taking herd treatment to an extreme based on very limited efficacy. Even recently Prof Sir Rory Collins claimed that treating 3 million would save 10,000 lives a year - that is 3 per 1000 treated. This begs the question of what happens to the other 997.

Furthermore, I have yet to find a report that statins extend life. Considering the commercial benefit of such evidence, the fact that Big Pharma and its KOLs have not been able to produce such evidence, leads me to the conclusion that it simply does not exist.
