A Taste of Honey

Life is like our taste buds. Our tongue has taste buds for sweetness, saltiness, sourness, and bitterness. Likewise, life has the sweetness of success, the saltiness of humor, the sourness of disappointment, and the bitterness of failure. In order to temper our craving for the addictive pleasure of sweetness (success) and saltiness (humor), we must accept the counterbalancing displeasure of sourness (disappointment) and bitterness (failure).
Sadly, a balanced palate is a rare talent.
