Is it not ironic that vital homeostatic functions such as cholesterol balance are regarded as good or bad? Omega 3 and Omega 6; good and bad. Cyclooxygenases 1 and 2; good and bad. Blanket medical advice based on commercial bias and conflicts of interest; bad. People centred medicine based on clear evidence of benefit; good. Listening to both sides of an issue; both good and bad.

Balance is the key in human health. The NICE guidelines have failed in recognising the importance in all of the above.
