Big NHS cost savings can come only after major transformation, finance directors say

The NHS is nearing the end of the road for making obvious costs savings, and larger gains would require major service transformations, a survey of finance directors has shown.
The poll by the Healthcare Financial Management Association found rising “pessimism” among finance directors about their organisations’ ability to meet targets set out in financial plans.
