Born in West Sussex, Graham David Busfield trained at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, where he also ran cross country for the medical school. He first worked at the Canadian Red Cross Memorial Hospital in Taplow, where he met, and soon married, Joan, who was a radiographer. After GP training rotation posts in Basingstoke Hospital and Bracknell, Graham became a partner in a large practice in Swallowfield in Berkshire in 1983.
