Woman challenges NHS refusal to fund egg freezing before treatment that may make her infertile

A 25 year old woman who is due to undergo “imminent” bone marrow transplantation and chemotherapy for Crohn’s disease has gone to the High Court in London to challenge a refusal by her local clinical commissioning group (CCG) to pay for her to freeze her eggs before the treatment.
Lawyers for Elizabeth Rose, an artist, told Mr Justice Jay that she feared the treatment would leave her infertile and was challenging the “unlawful” …
