Dear Sir/Madam,

According to the 1998 terminologia anatomica and Gray's Anatomy, the part labelled B is correctly termed the patellar ligament, not the patellar tendon. Notwithstanding this, there is evidence from ovine models, that utilised electron microscopy, which supports labelling it as a tendon, as it is here.
