GP who persuaded his wife to try heroin is suspended for nine months

A Scottish GP whose wife collapsed after he persuaded her to try heroin has been suspended from the medical register for nine months.

Ashley Sibery’s 2012 conviction for culpable and reckless conduct over the incident, and a separate conviction for driving over the alcohol limit within days of being charged for the first offence, meant that his fitness to practise was impaired, the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service decided.
