Half of drug trials with results on ClinicalTrials.gov are not published in journals

Half of clinical trials of drugs with results posted on ClinicalTrials.gov have not been published in journals even though they were completed four years ago on average, shows the first study to analyse the effect of the US website.1
The analysis also found that reports in journals carried less information than those on the database, particularly on adverse events.
Researchers searched the database for all completed phase III or IV randomised controlled trials of drugs with posted results on one day, 27 March 2012. …
